So, I just became aware that these exist. I’m intrigued. It looks closer to an AC Ace, whic h I like .

Now, what engine would you choose? The original Ace used various inline 6s. I quite like this more modern one for the job:

RB26, NA, with ITBs.

Call me old fashioned but a 260 or 289 would do the job just fine.

SBF is the correct answer. My grandpa had one (kit ) with a wild SBF stroker. Crazy fun. Much better than the big block ones I've ridden in.

Same here.  If you’re going slab side, go for a classic small V8.  Maybe even individual webbers if you’re feeling crazy.  No sense in making it sound just like another Mustang.

A nice solid lifter, high winding 289 with Webbers would be so much fun in that. Hell, if you can spring for the cash an original style Boss 302 engine  would be fantastic too.

I just read the article about people getting upset about other people leaving the yellow splitter pr otectors on their mopars, and there I was thinking, who the hell cares?

But, if you are talking about a Cobra replica I kind of lose my shit when someone puts a SBC of Big Block Chevy (I think other things if I see BBC). It shouldn’t matter to me, but it does, oh so wrong.

I thought m y car crazy brother and I were the only ones that prefer the leaner look of the early Cobras.

Fair enough; I don’t think I would turn down a 289.
